Welcome to 1904 Candles – formerly Seapoint Chandlers.

Our story began with the purchase of a historic stone home built in 1904, located on the shores of Oneida Lake in Upstate New York. What started as an investment property (now a charming Vrbo getaway) soon became the inspiration behind our brand name and a deeper lifestyle shift. After over two decades of successful careers in luxury retail, we left the Philadelphia metro area and embraced a new chapter in Upstate NY, where we also acquired a second property—now our permanent home.

Alongside this transition, we launched Stonehouse Designs, a thriving interior design firm named in honor of that first 1904 stone house.

My journey into candle-making began in Maine, where I frequently helped my dear friend Susan Marullo with her well-loved candle company, Seapoint Chandlers. The creative process felt instinctive, and I found joy and purpose in the craft. After Susan’s 12 successful years in business, I was inspired to carry her legacy forward—ushering in a new era with 1904 Candles, officially established in 2024 in Cleveland, NY.

At 1904 Candles, our mission is to craft more than just candles—we create meaningful, beautifully designed, functional pieces with a clean and lasting burn. Our collections often feature original, handmade elements and continue to expand.

Each candle is made using only natural ingredients: 100% beeswax, cotton wicks, natural dyes, and essential oils. We believe in the importance of living close to nature, and our products are designed to bring warmth, peace, and happiness into your home, and to those you love.
